Comic-Con 2010

Comic-Con has been an annual San Diego convention since 1970 with an original focus on comic books, science fiction/fantasy, film/television, and related popular art. Since then the tradition has expanded to include a wide range of pop culture elements, such as horror, anime, manga, animation, toys, collectible card games, video games, web comics, and fantasy novels. Each year comic book fans and pop culture enthusiasts alike can enjoy four days of panels, workshops, and seminars with comic book professionals, as well as previews of upcoming films, a costume contest, awards ceremonies, a Masquerade, and the Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival. Other attractions include hundreds of hours of pop culture and comic book programming, exhibitions, autograph signing and sketches in Artists’ Alley, and various educational forums. Comic-Con’s wide variety of events has made it the second largest comic book convention in the world, as it has grown from an original 300 guests to over 126,000 attendees in 2009.
